The theme of the 15th annual Baltimore Running Festival was Run for Pride. Some 24,000 participants ran in one of several races, from a full 26.2 miles to a 100 yard Kid’s Fun Run.
The City showed it’s pride as well, with an estimated 300,000 attendees cheering the runners on to the finish line. The BRF brings runners from all 50 US states and 26 countries to Charm City, with an economic impact of some $35 million.
The event is a showcase for the City of Baltimore, and the race donates approximately $1.3 million each year to several Baltimore charities. Some 600 volunteers perform setup, raceday activities, and cleanup.
Over 400 medical professionals provide onsite care, some 600 Law Enforcement and First Responders bring their professionalism to the event.
As one of Baltimore’s signature events, the Baltimore Running Festival shows the world the best the City has to offer.
